This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one Billie Sheppard Jr. who was born in Missouri on 07 December 1952 and passed away on 03 September 2011 at the age of 58. We will remember him forever.
Billie True Sheppard Jr. was born December 07, 1952 to Billie T. Sheppard Sr. and Ruth Luella Langston-Sheppard In Cape Girardeau, Missouri, who preceeded him him death in 1998 and 1979 respectively. Also born to them was Cindy Lou Sheppard-Robinson (Marvin) and Rebecca Ann Sheppard-Rollins (James).
Bill Jr. graduated from Oran,Mo. high school in 1971. He entered the U.S. Navy in August of 1971 and came out July of 1977
In 1975 Bill Jr. married Barbara Mouser of Marquand, Missouri. To this marriage was three children born. Travis Wade (Crystal), Bobby Joe, and Kimberly Dawn Sheppard-Jordan (Christopher). They was divorced in 1989.
Bill Jr. lived in the Kansas City metro area for a number of years. During his life he held a great number of jobs, none more awarding than being a firefighter. He started as a firefighter with the East County Fire Protection District in Cape Girardeau County. He continued that with the South Metropolitan Fire District in Raymore, Mo. then with Western Cass Fire in Cleveland, Mo.
While in Kansas City he was also a Concrete Truck driver for many years beginning with Concrete Service, this company was sold many times, ending with Apac LLC. He was with them 19 years.
In 2007 he had open heart surgery at St. Joseph hospital. Triple bypass with an Aortic Valve replacement. He ended up getting sick because of this, developing MRSA, a deadly form of staph infection. He beat the odds, coming out of this but not being able to return to work. Later that year he moved to Clio, Ia. living with his sister Cindy, doing something that I always remember him talking about doing in his earlier years with a smile on his face, farming with our Uncle Marvin. In 2008 we moved dad back to SEMO, to my sister, Kim's house. He lived with Kim, Chris, Garrett, and Alexandra from October 2008 until 2010.
In 2009 he met a young lady, Leann McGonnigil, at Healthpoint gym in Cape Girardeau, Mo. she was by his side until his death in 2011 at S.E. Hospital.
On a personal note, not to take away from my brother and sister, I know for a fact it was hard on them. With that said, I know what kind of toll it has taken on me. You see, my brother and sister was beside him during his brief time in the hospital on the morning of his death, I was in Alaska. I moved here, knowing something like this could happen, I feel horrible I was not there beside him also. I love you Dad, we all love you and miss you terribly. Also the CARDINALS ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS! again
